Ophthalmological Program
Eyesight is essential for children’s quality of life, and timely diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders is the primary concern of Howard Karagheusian MBPO’s Ophthalmology program.
Ophthalmic visiometry, retinoscopy, ophthalmoscopy, biomicroscopy, and sonography are carried out in the branches of Howard Karagheusian MBPO.
In cases where the child receiving ongoing treatment at the Center reaches the limit of non-surgical treatment options, the Center may recommend surgical intervention. Parents would be advised to obtain a second opinion. Parents may contact the Ophthalmological Center After S.V. Malayan in Yerevan if the second opinion concurs that surgery is the next step. If the surgery takes place, full or partial coverage for the costs will be applied, per a 2016 agreement between the two medical centers.
An integral part of the ophthalmology program is the periodic participation of physicians in the school screening program.
