Dental Program

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines oral health as “a state of being free from chronic mouth and facial pain, oral and throat cancer, oral infection, and sores, periodontal (gum) disease, tooth decay, tooth loss, and other diseases and disorders that limit an individual’s capacity in biting, chewing, smiling, speaking, and mental health wellbeing.”

The program aims to improve the quality of oral health of children in Armenia and Artsakh, thereby improving their quality of life. Free dental treatment and oral hygiene education are available to all children regardless of social status and physical abilities.

The program began its activities in 1993 in Yerevan, in the “Nork” clinic employing 3 dentists, and has grown to now employ 19 dentists. These are experienced and qualified doctors who ensure the oral health of children. About 350,000 children have visited the centers since opening.
