Providing psycho-social and humanitarian aid to displaced families
In 2020, the devastating war caused many families across Nagorno-Karabakh to leave their homes and settle in Armenia.
The Howard Karagheusian MBPO staff formed a team of psychologists and social workers who organized weekly visits. Since October, this team has traveled to the regions where displaced families lived, and assessed their basic and psychosocial needs for assistance.
During regular visits, specialists assessed the children’s psychological state, provided the necessary assistance, and provided parcels with humanitarian aid.

Among the specialists was also the coordinator of the preventive dentistry program, who provided parents and children with information about the importance of oral hygiene, showed them how to brush their teeth properly, talked about healthy and unhealthy foods for dental health, and the importance of visiting the dentist. The children were given dental hygiene kits with a toothbrush and toothpaste.
